For over 30 years now, those who saw my works have been asking to take them home. That is why I can safely say I have been exhibiting in thousands of places… private collections. If I knew the opening hours of all the people who took my works home with them, I would organize a bus tour to see each and every one of them. Mass media and Visuals are my profession. From sports commentaries to television project management, the spectrum can take a lifetime to cover - or eighteen years, as the case may be. And yet, I find my true passion and resonance in art. My future project is probably going to be entitled ART.tv, and I don't think anyone who knows me would be much surprised. I like what I am doing, and I am doing something I like. Television and painting. I have been working in television for 18 years. Television is still fascinating to me, through its dynamics and adaptive capacities. And still, painting has one element that TV and New Media have not wholly achieved yet: elegance. The color palette that I prefer is always the same: the infinite variation of light. My friends ask me what my favorite color is. I look at them and tilt my head as if to duck the question. If they insist, I say it is green. And yet, for two years I have been wearing a yellow silicon wristband… Liberalism is the most beautiful idea; yet when it becomes a doctrine, it frightens me just as any other. I militate for love and nature. I hate totalitarian regimes and point my paint-stained finger at it. I help others and ask for no help, but take it when it comes. I am free to decide – or at least that’s what I think… For me, every day comes with a love story. I share it through my canvas. I fight with myself for being a hypocrite. “Love is ephemeral”, I shout from among the crowd’s chorus – but I am being dishonest. The girl with yellow-green eyes in my paintings smiles; she knows what I am talking about. I am a 41 year-old artist showing his paintings to the world, with the nervous emotion of children bragging about their first drawing. I already have a collection of works by those children who were kind enough to give them to me. They are by far the most valuable things I own. I paint, I draw, I sculpt. I am a painter. |
