"Artist Statement Patricia Lefebvre is engaged on the tracks of singular artists , for which life is envisaged as poetry. Patricia paints figures and landscapes. But most of all, she invents masks and masked portraits. She prefers tales to reality and children drawing to savant drawing. Her states of mind and free associations that are created while painting, are crystallized into her portraits gallery. And she is very inspired by Paris colour street spectacles . In 1985 she meets, the poet, painter, and musician, bewitching Jaber, which triggered Patricia art creation initiation. Still today, Patricia Lefebvre looks at figures and paint them. The spirit of each is reflected and hides itself. She interprets, by incrustation in the skin, strange tattoos, in the manner of American natives, or as sun will transverse a palisade. Then she puts wide open eyes in the portraits and will entrust them with her secrets. Ileana Cornea - 2004 - " |
