Why I'am an Artist
I have always drawn since I was a little child, and my family has been very encouraging of that. Art and drawing I've found has been a major source of stress relief for me and has always helped me make it through what ever rough water's I may be in, or may lay ahead. Because of this it was one child hood love that I will never out grow, and in fact my husband now embraces it also. At least he embraces my love for it...( for our aniversary I got new paint brushes LOL)
I turned from drawing to painting in 2005 when my mom's - best friends - son learned how to paint. Well, we all know parents. My mother came home later that week with a few tubes of acrylic pains and paper and told me "You can do that! Here!!!" So I started playing with painting. My begining paintings were'nt too bad, they looked a little more abstrct than I would have liked; but over the last two years they've really excelled. I've taught myself how to use the knife and many different tools. (Which is probably not the "Proper" way to use them but it sure makes a beautiful effect on my paintings) I've never taken any classes and unfortuantely dont hold any degrees or certificates but my paintings come out beautiful, protected, varnished and ready to hang.
Since May of 2006 I've sold 15 paintings, and been accepted in 2 jurried compitetions. The last art show I was shown in was "The Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery" in Ramona, Ca. in October. I was very excited that they accepted 3 of my paintings into their juried showing. They accepted 1. Italy's Best, 2. Golden Paradice, and 3. California Dreamin'. This was a very busy show, as they had over 3000 applications and under 300 openings for paintings. Two of those paintings were sold during the time there were on display in that gallery, which is why only prints are available now. The other painting sold shortly after
Thank you so much for your intrest in my gallery.
