Eric Vilaire is known for his twisted approach to film, artwork and illustrations. The dark elements emerge in his work in humorous and dramatic ways, as they signify the depths of an adventuristic artist.
Emerging from a childhood of martial arts study and sponsorships for BMX riding, he began experimental special effects at age 19. This Queens born, Chicago raised film maker and artist was drawn to the California location of The New York Film Academy where he began his serious study of film. There he incorporated himself as stunt doubles while creating experimental film amongst his colleagues.
Naturally drawn to horror and darkness, his personal work developed separately while he successfully entered the professional world of television by operating equipment on the sets of commercials, music videos and films for companies such as MTV, UPN, VH-1, Bravo and Telemundo amongst others, here in South Florida.
