Words say little and expressions can tell tall tales, but somewhere beneath all the array of convincing smiles and wide eyed surprise is a moment of absolute true expression. The most powerful thing I can do as an artist is to motivate a sense of wonder from the viewer. When someone looks at a painting and questions what they aren't seeing, "What is she looking at?" or they tell me their perception of what is taking place, I feel the painting is successful. I love to take someone out of reality for a moment, and have them visit another space and time. Often, I start with a "mood" or feeling in mind, but the painting becomes it's own entity, and forms the personality it chooses. Then someone else senses or sees something I never did. This is what I enjoy most. Art should touch you personally, and not have to be explained. People should like art because of how it makes them feel, not because someone else said it's worthy.

Behind the scenes in an artist's mind...

Jenny Gini

Jenny Gini was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada which is where she lives currently.  As a child Jenny was fortunate enough to experience private and small group lessons in painting as soon as her mother discovered her extreme interest and natural talent.  As an adult, Jenny spent 8 years in California attending college to study art in both Santa Cruz, and San Francisco.  She Graduated from UCSF with a bachelor’s in fine art’s.  After college, Jenny returned to Las Vegas and earned her teaching credential.  With her students, teaching at both the high school level as well as middle school, Ms. Gini had the opportunity to expand and grow as an artist learning as much from her students as they learned from her.

Jenny Gini is currently a full time artist.  She often explores various mediums such as oils, watercolor, and pastels but has a strong emphasis in acrylic work.  Generally, she focuses on life’s beautiful moments and has a tendency to use women as her channel in these moments.  Although her artwork varies somewhat on technique, media, and subject, she usually tends to render the grace of human form.  The use of figure and face has a dreamlike feel and emits a certain mood within her paintings.  Her paintings lead the viewer beyond what they are seeing and intrigue the mind about what is not seen.
