I am a self-taught artist who paints as a hobby. I grew up and live in Southern California. I enjoy painting and drawing in a realistic manner. I feel this is the most challenging way to express the art I am trying to capture. I take most of the reference photos myself but sometimes I will use other photos from different sources to capture the image. The finished painting never looks identical to the photograph; it always takes on a look of it's own.
