Impudently mixing idea and emotion. Painting human complexity, the fragility of their relations through attitudes and mannerism.
I use my doubts and my reactions to daily situations to bring life to my paintings, directly or indirectly. Sometimes, my feelings are buried. They rise up after a while as if they should have been obvious, as if they had needed to mature before coming to light. Composition represents more than the mere subjects as the act of painting happens almost at the same time, making us sometimes forget the meaning of the scenery and revealing the difficulty in communicating.
I like lines, crumpled lines, because they link you up to life itself.
The subject setting inside a given space is dominated by the magic of colours : rhythm and attitude naturally evolve and are the results of an acute intuition.
I mostly use erasing techniques to reach the core. I draw inspiration from observing my environment daily, whether it be close or far. As a matter of fact, painting makes me express my questioning and my revolt against our society's cynicism.
I paint to understand the world I live in. To do so, I draw a link between my experience, a study of people through reading very different authors (my current reads are S. Beckett, H. Murakami,...) and art history (with fugitive references to different masterpieces).
I'm interested in theatre, because its enormous wealth feeds me and stimulates my pictorial gesture and sends me back to questioning human existence, our physical place in the world as well as our place in society.
