After applied arts studies, Yvonne CLERGERIE turns towards painting, but quickly gets interest and passion for sculpture. Bronzes, stones, woods, earths... Each material lay down its structure; up to the artist to master this language.
For nearly 20 years, by her sculptures, Yvonne CLERGERIE attempts through shadow and light to disclose the captured beauty, to reveal her world vision, to communicate with us...
Yvonne CLERGERIE regularly exposes her works in Parisians national circles: French Artist, Salon d'automne, Comparaisons...
She owns a lot of prizes attributed by the towns where she exposed as guest of honour...
Her works are part of private or public collections, both in France and abroad.
Distinctions
Yvonne CLERGERIE has been rose up to " Chevalier de la légion d'honneur " grade during the 14th of july 2004 promotion by Presidend of Republic Mr Jacques CHIRAC, in the name of culture and communication Ministry. It is to notice that a very few artists received the "Légion d'Honneur" and that Yvonne CLERGERIE might be the only " sculptor woman " to have receive it among living artists.
She has been nominated " Chevalier ", then " Officier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2001 " and just received the " Médaille d'Honneur de la société des Artistes Français ", our oldest national circle, Colbert's inherit, from which the head office is located in the Grand Palais in Paris.
25 rooms honour Yvonne CLERGERIE's work as a guest of honour.
She is a member of many province's and Paris circles, of " Taylor's Foundation ", Autumn circle and French Artists Circle of which she has been vice-president for six years.
Besides, she takes part in a great number of expositions in Paris, in province and abroad.
Her works are rewarded by many distinctions, medals and prizes.
The work of Yvonne Clergerie immediately takes us into a world of peace and purity. The symbolic of the themes chosen such as " ligth, water, horizon, stars, flowers or even tenderness, kissing and love"... tender this perfect evidence.
They stem from life and offer hope: this is what Yvonne Clergerie conveys with both tactfulness and force.
Bronze, stone, wood, earth ... every material demands its own stucture: the artist has to muster the language. Yvonne Clergerie, through shade and ligth, endeavours to unveil beauty and offer it to us.
Woman, for ever beautiful in her serenity, is the pivot of her work, in which, as for statues from ancient times, the inner thinking of the artiste remains enshrined in matter for ever.
