A New Year, A Special Year?

Many of those interested in psychic things have suggested that this year will be a special year in the history of mankind. According to various ancient calendars, many things will happen this year, all over the world.

Innocent Well, I'm not convinced on one hand, and yet, on the other hand, I can see many changes in society worldwide.  For example, any intelligent person following the news at all would know that democracy has to come to the Middle Eastern countries sooner or later. The various peoples living in that area have been repressed for too long.  Perhaps no one could guess that the social media via the internet would be the means to trigger revolutions in these areas.  Perhaps it's time in a global society that all people in all nations have the same rights and possibilities to improve their lives in any way they can.If this happens in 2012, it would certainly be a wonderful, if sometimes difficult, year.

Regardless of what a person aspires to do in life, it requires hard work, a vision, steadfastness and faith in oneself and perhaps faith in a Higher Being or Force. As an artist, one is totally dependent on one's own sources and sometimes it's quite hard to keep going, keep creating, keep working and producing something. Even when there's no energy to do so.  My self-discipline has been lacking the past few months so very little has been accomplished. Although, sometimes quiet times and contemplation are also needed and often those times are forerunners of great growth spurts. New ideas, new approaches, new directions, new methods, lots of new things come into play.

Still, I'm waiting to find the direction I want to go in with my artwork. Promoting and selling one's work is the hardest thing for most artists and it's easy to get stuck because of this. I hope that this year will bring me success as an artist in a way that convinces me to keep going. Do I have a choice anyway? Not really.

Until next time, Happy New Year!

A New Year, A Special Year?   Many of those interested in psychic things have suggested that this year will be a special year in the history of mankind. According to various ancient calendars, many things will happen this year, all over the world.

Two Ladies by the Seaside   When I sit at the computer in my loft/atelier apartment I can look at two of my largest artworks on the tall wall in front of me. They are called 'Spring Has Sprung' and 'Two Ladies by the Seaside'.

O Son of Love! Inspiration from the Baha'i Writings   I had this image in my sketchbook but no idea of what style or which fabrics to use.

The Miracle of Everything   Some thoughts on miracles here and now.

Another beautiful day   Enjoying living in Vasa even when it gets really dark in the winter.

A grey day, a Sunday morning, a wonderful view and no inspiration   How grateful I am to have my studio-apartment to work in.

Early morning in my studio   My first thoughts for these pages
